Cobalt Class This class of ship blurs the line between a cruiser ship and a heavy transport ship. It is a development of the smaller cruiser ships in the Ventura class. It's primary purpose is as support vessel for larger destroyers and battle ships in the Terran fleet but is well enough armed to hold it's own in battle. The ship has two small fighter bays at the front and has 3 Laser Cannons on top of the main hull which is usually sufficent for handling it's own defense. The ship can be used to transport troops to battle sites or transporting weaponary and supplies. As can be seen in the pictures there are also 9 large canisters secured on both sides that is widely believed to hold highly dangerous chemicals and other materials that are too dangerous to hold within the main hull.
